Watermelon Mojito - Mojito Mania Is Here!

The mojito is the national drink of Cuba (and one of Earnest Hemingway's favorite drinks...). The mojito goes with me way back. Each bartender has his or hers special recipe for this great drink, And the best thing is that no matter what recipe you choose - everyone just loves mojitos. The Watermelon mojito is just what you need on a hot summer day or night - a refreshing cold rum cocktail with a sweet and sour flavor...

Here is my Classic Mojito mixing video. Follow the steps and add the watermalon to the shaker with all the other ingridients (according to the written recipe bellow). If you prefer a written recipe just scroll down this page.

Ingredients For A Watermelon Mojito:

1 Spoon white sugar
2 Oz White Rum (Havana Club®)
6 Oz seedless watermelon (hand full of cut watermelon)
Hand full of Mint leaves
Half of one lime cut into 3 wedges
Splash of club soda
1.5 Oz Sweet and Sour Mix
8 Ice cubes and crushed ice

Method:

Glass: Old fashioned, Rock

Step 1: muddle the watermelon, mint, limes and sugar, muddle until you actually smell the fresh mint
Step 2: Add 2 Oz of Rum
Step 3: Add the sweet and sour mix
Step 4: Add 8 ice cubes
Step 5: Shake it hard! 10 times at least
Step 6: Strain into the glass full of crushed ice
Step 7: Top the drink with club soda and stir
Step 8: Add 5 fresh new mint leaves and a piece of watermelon on top and serve it, your perfect mojito is ready to drink!

You can also use:

Golden rum, but it will give a stronger taste of rum and alcohol and maybe make the drink not so user friendly to some.

Cocktail-Guru Tip

You can crush ice by putting ice cubes in 2 plastic bags and then throwing the bag on the floor a few times.
