Waldorf Remixed
1 inch fresh celery
5 leaves fresh basil
2.5 oz vodka
0.75 oz apple liqueur
0.75 oz simple syrup
0.4 oz lime juice
Muddle celery and basil well in a shaker to bring out the flavor and the lovely green color from the basil. Add the rest and shake hard with ice.
Double strain into a cocktail glass.
Garnish with three seedless syrup coated grapes on a stick sprinkled with chopped walnuts.
This cocktail is a spin-off on the traditional Waldorf Salad created at the legendary Waldorf-Astoria hotel. The cocktail won first prize in a Danish cocktail competition on March 20, 2011.
