(Las Vegas, NV)
named in honor of my home town, St. Petersburg, Florida (affectionately called "The Dirty 'Burg" by its younger residents). It's crisp and refreshing with a hint of spice. Much like St. Petersburg itself, this drink reflects the easthetic of beach life... sweet, tangy, and with just enough flotsam and grit to keep from being pretentious.
Dirty ‘Burg
Ingredients:
(Makes 2)
Fresh pineapple: chunked
½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 Tbsp granulated sugar
4 oz Vodka
4 oz Curacao (or Triple Sec)
Juice of 1 lemon (2-3 oz)
4 oz Tangerine juice (orange juice can be substituted)
2 Dashes of Angostura bitters
To prepare:
Combine fresh pineapple, vodka, Curacao, cinnamon and sugar in a plastic container or baggie; mix to distribute the ingredients evenly. Allow the mixture to meld for a few hours to one day.
Strain liquids from the pineapple into a cocktail shaker filled ½ full of ice. Add remaining ingredients; shake vigorously and pour into two Martini glasses. Festoon with a pineapple wedge sprinkled with a dash of cinnamon. Enjoy naked, on the beach, at night!
