Tail Gunner

1-1⁄2 oz. Silver Tequila

3⁄4 to 1 oz. Maraschino Liqueur (1 oz if you prefer a cocktail on the sweet side otherwise cut back a bit)

1⁄4 to 1⁄2 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice, (1/2 oz if you prefer a cocktail on the tart side, less otherwise)

2 dashes orange bitters

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail (Martini) glass. Garnish with a lime or orange twist. Sip slowly. If standard cocktail octane is too high for you, pour into an ice-filled tumbler and top off with club soda or seltzer. But it just won't be the same ...
