Sir Edmund Hillary

by Ed Clinton
(Evanston, Illinois, USA)

You prepare the Sir Edmund Hillary by dropping a shot of gin into 8 oz. of beer, preferably a pale lager. You then immediately chug the mixture while it is foamy and delicious. The name comes from the New Zealand mountaineer of English descent. The original beer was a Coor's, which has mountains on it, and gin is an English drink. This cocktail is similar to the Jagerbomb in format, and was invented by students at Northwestern University in 2010. It really is quite refreshing, despite the seemingly odd mixture. Enjoy!

Tasty!!
by: Jarryd

Pairs with: Fried cod, Cheddar, Smoked Pork
The drink was a hazy straw color, a thick, strong head that did not diminish quickly. Excellent lacing!!
The nose had hints of Bavarian pils as well as a strong pine character.
A very pleasant mouthfeel, a little light, but definitely enjoyable.
Taste: This was the biggest surprise. the liquor character was low, but the juniper definitely came through, really overpowering the hops of the beer. The citrus undertones were great!
Aftertaste: Eh

It was a lot different than I expected. Definitely got me drunk, and didn't taste too bad. The colder the better IMO
