The Metropolitan Cocktail

The Metropolitan cocktail is a great cocktail for a great evening indoors or on the night out, it's tasty, sexy and very cool, in a few minutes you can be drinking this great cocktail.
The metropolitan became famous thanks to it's older brother, the Cosmopolitan, The "Cosmo" has been popular for many years, especially among the ladies, the "Metro" was born a few years after.
The cocktail's basic ingredient is blackberry (black currant) infused vodka, any will do, Absolut have the Absolut Kurant that is just great for this cocktail, to the vodka we add orange liqueur, cranberry juice , lime juice, and lime cordial.
Ingredients for the Perfect Dry Metropolitan
- 1.5 Oz Currant (Blackberry) Vodka
- 0.5 Oz Orange Liqueur (always prefer Cointreau)
- 1 Oz Cranberry Juice
- Juice of Half a lime or lemon (we always prefer
- limes!)
- Dash of Lime Cordial (we recommend Rose's
- Lime Juice)
- 8 Ice cubes or crushed ice
- Lime peel for garnish
Step by Step Instructions
Bar tools used: Shaker, Strainer
Glass: Martini
- Step 1: Chill the martini glass
- Step 2: Pour the liqueur and vodka to your shaker
- Step 3: Pour the cranberry and cordial to your shaker
- Step 4 Add the fresh lime juice or just squeeze a half of lime inside
- Step 5: Fill shaker with ice
- Step 6: Add 8 ice cubes
- Step 7: Shake it! 10 times at least
- Step 8: Strain your cocktail into the chilled glass
- Step 9: Drink or serve it, your Perfect Metropolitan Cocktail is ready to drink!
- Garnish:
Twist a lime peel and place it the rim of the drink, or just place it in the glass, it adds great aroma and flavor

You can also use:
Any flavored vodka, like strawberry, pear, peach... as long as they are not sweet and just have an aroma. You can also use standard vodka, any brand you like. Triple sec can be used as orange liqueur.
To chill a martini glass just put a few ice cubes and water in it while you're making the cocktail, a chilled glass is cool.
