Pineapple Mai Tai Drink Recipe
An Amazing Tropical Cocktail!

This mai tai drink recipe is my version to the classic version of the popular mai tai. I take the drink to a more fruity level with a fresh Pineapple...

This is a very refreshing and tropical mainstream cocktail that people just love. I reccomend that you use fresh pineapple juice if you can get some.

  • 1.5 Oz Light rum

  • 1.5 Oz Aged or dark rum

  • 1 Oz freshly squeezed lime juice

  • 2 Oz Pineapple juice (prefer freshly pressed)

  • 0.5 Oz Grand Marnier or cointreau

  • 0.5 Oz Amaretto

  • Dash of grenadine

Glass: Pint

  • Step 1: Pour all ingredients except the grenadine into shaker

  • Step 2: Fill shaker with ice

  • Step 3: Shake it! 10 times at least

  • Step 4: Strain into glass filled with crushed ice

  • Step 4: Dash of grenadine on top

  • Garnish: Pineapple and cherry (and umbrella if you have one)

  • You can also use :
Triple sec instead of the Grand Marnier and any rum you like, aged rum has a unique taste but it's very strong and not everyone likes it, light rum is much more popular.

Cocktail-Guru Tip

Crushed ice makes a big difference especially in tropical cocktails, fill the glass with crushed ice at the moment you are going to strain your drink over it, so it does not melt. You can crush ice by putting ice cubes in a double plastic bag and banging it on the counter.
