The espresso martini is all you need to finish a great dinner, at home or at a restaurant, it gives you that push to keep having fun and not fall asleep, which sometimes happens to the best of us...
I deeply recommend you use fresh coffee for this one, it makes the difference, and if you have an espresso machine, from the most sophisticated ones to the small basic ones, use it!
After making the coffee you need to let it chill, because it's a small amount (it's an espresso, remember?), so put it on the side or in the fridge for about two minutes, you don't need it cold, just not hot so it would not melt the ice and make your cocktail "watery".

I like using vanilla flavored syrup instead of the crème de cacao, I think it makes the drink much more unique, just add half an ounce of it, from any brand you choose, I prefer Monin, Torani or Rotin.
