Back of the Island (An original Penang cocktail)

Ingredients:

-One fresh nutmeg – peeled, halved, and pit removed
-1/2 cup of cold water
-3 teaspoons of raw or white sugar
-8 ice cubes
-1/2 can of ginger ale
-1 shot of rum (Bacardi original)

The process:

1. Put 8 ice cubes and one shot of rum in a cocktail glass.
2. In a blender, add in the cold water, sugar, and fresh nutmeg fruit. Blend well.
3. Pour the mix through a fine metal strainer into a bowl. Then transfer the juice into the cocktail glass.
4. Top off with ginger ale, and stir.
5. Optional – drop the nutmeg seed into the bottom of the drink
