Served in a Pint Glass on the rocks
1 oz Tequila
1 oz Vanilla Rum
1 oz Triple Sec
Splash of Grenadine
Fill rest with Orange Juice
The Vanilla Rum (I used Cruzan, but really, any will suffice) offsets the taste of the Tequila and it is a sweet drink, but awesome especially for those summer days to come! I am a bartender and love to create new drinks on my slow days. I also love going to other bars and trying the new drinks that they come up with and learning new recipes to bring back home and share with my customers. Bartending is not a career for me but making drinks is definitely a passion along with cooking. I'm always up for new ideas.
The creation of it's name:
In the small town I moved to (originally an east coast girl) and bartend in, here in the amazing state of Alaska, I being the only middle eastern, quickly got the nickname from my friends among many others. Not offended by any means, I just roll with it and love it all in it's good humor. When I came up with this drink I pondered what to call it and then it hit me, give it MY name here in town. It goes well with the drink because as you're drinking it you don't realize really how much alcohol content there is in it until you hit the bottom of that glass and then BOOM! You are feeling pretty good! Some say it tastes like starburst candy (I personally agree), others say it tastes almost like an orange creamsicle (the actual creamsicle, not the drink), and I love it because it is sweet but not severely sweet and goes down incredibly smooth. Everywhere I've gone I've introduced my drink to other bars in several other towns which turned out to be HUGE hits. I now get several calls from other bartenders in a 250 mile stretch asking me how to make them. It stuck and stuck well.
I hope you enjoy my cocktail!
